Throughout the month of May we invite you to be a part of Kennedy Center Membership. Did you know The Kennedy Center receives no direct federal appropriations for artistic programming? By law, our appropriations must be applied only to the maintenance of the actual building. Ticket sales and other earned income cover only 44% of our operating expenses, which means we must raise over $72 million annually to deliver the kind of excellence on the stage and in our many programs for children, teachers, aspiring artists, and underserved communities that you — and they — have come to expect.
