Each year, the Kennedy Center For the Performing Arts' Fund for New American Plays will support a regional theater's production of a new American play. Following the regional production the play will then move to the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater for a one-week engagement. Due to the nature of this new structure, no submissions from playwrights or theater companies will be solicited or accepted. The Kennedy Center will contact regional theaters directly. The first production will be in the 2005/2006 season.
