(Playwright / Lyricist) is the author of several works of fiction and non-fiction for children as well as adults. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, her most famous children's book, was first published in 1972 and has since sold over two million copies. Ms. Viorst received a B.A. in History from Rutgers University, and she is also a graduate of the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute, where she is a research affiliate. She began her career as a poet and has since completed eight collections of poems for adults the latest of which is I'm Too Young to Be Seventy and Other Delusions. Her first novel for adults, Murdering Mr. Monti, was published in 1994, and her most recent work of non-fiction, Grown-Up Marriage, was published in January 2003 by Simon and Schuster. Her book Necessary Losses, published in 1986, appeared for almost two years on The New York Times best-seller list in hardcover and paperback. Ms. Viorst's children's books include The Tenth Good Thing About Barney, Super-Completely and Totally the Messiest, and the "Alexander" stories: Alexander, Who Used to be Rich Last Sunday, Alexander, Who's Not (Do You Hear Me? I Mean It!) Going to Move and, of course, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. A new children's book, Just in Case, will be published in January. Ms. Viorst lectures widely on a variety of topics, ranging from the subjects of loss and control to children's literature. She resides in Washington, DC, with her husband Milton, a political writer. They have three sons, Anthony, Nicholas and Alexander, and six perfect grandchildren.
(Composer) is proud to have worked with Judith on what is now their third show together, having written Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Band Day which premiered at the Kennedy Center, as well as Love and Shrimp, a musical revue base on her best-selling poetry books. His songs have been featured on Captain Kangaroo, and he composed music for many popular family musicals, which toured the country, including The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Swiss Family Robinson, Tom Sawyer and The Prince and The Pauper. He adapted and wrote new songs for a contemporary adaptation of Babes In Toyland for producers Fran and Barry Weissler, scored the PBS production of Charley's Aunt starring Charles Grodin, and composed the score to Flavia & The Dream Maker, which opened to critical acclaim in Santa Barbara and is now published by Dramatic Publishing. He is one of the writers of the hit Off-Broadway show Naked Boys Singing and has collaborated on a new musical revue about growing older somewhat reluctantly called Too Old For The Chorus, which enjoyed an eight month sold-out run in Los Angeles and is now being optioned for an Off-Broadway opening. He has written special musical material for many popular television series, such as Friends, The Nanny, Golden Girls and Touched By An Angel.
(Director) staged the world premieres of both this play and Judith Viorst's Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. For the Kennedy Center he also directed Ken Ludwig's and Don Schlitz's musical adaptation of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Paulette Laufer's adaptation of James Thurber's The Great Quillow. Recent credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream (People's Light and Theatre Company, Phildelphia), The Disputation (starring Theodore Bikel, Theatre J, Washington D.C.), The Miracle Worker (Arena Stage), and The Daughter of the Regiment (Boston Lyric Opera). For the Voice of America, he has directed numerous radio plays, including All My Sons (starring Julie Harris), Seven Days in May (starring Ed Asner), and The Heiress (starring Amy Irving and Chris Noth). This season he will direct Romeoet Juliette (Cleveland Opera) and Il matrimonio segreto (Maryland Opera Studio).

(Music Director) is a music director, pianist, and vocal coach for many theatrical and cabaret performances in the Washington, DC, area. He is delighted to be part of this wonderful cast and creative team. He has received 6 prestigious Helen Hayes Award nominations for Camelot, South Pacific, Animal Crackers at Arena Stage, The Oedipus Plays featuring Avery Brooks and Comedy of Errors at the Shakespeare Theatre, and Mad About the Bard at the Folger Theatre. He is music director for Arena Stage's production of the popular musical Damn Yankees this season. Collaboration with other Washington theatres include The Kennedy Center, Ford's Theatre, and Discovery Theatre at the Smithsonian. New York credits include The Ohio Theatre, the Acting Company and the Eugene O'Neill Music Theatre Conference. He has worked with many cabaret artists including appearances at Blues Alley and the Millennium Stage. He celebrates his eighth year on the faculties of the Studio Acting Conservatory and the Theatre Lab, and his third as President of the Board of the DC Cabaret Network. (Properties Artisan) has served as properties artisan for many Kennedy Center Youth and Family Programs shows. Her credits include such diverse productions as Dreams in the Golden Country; The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; The Snow Queen; Little Women; Alice in Wonderland; The Nightingale; Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and others; many of which have toured nationally. She has a Master of Fine Arts from Northwestern University and free-lances throughout the metro area.
(Sound Designer) Kevin has recently worked with The Kennedy Center, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Imagination Stage, The Studio Theatre and the Open Circle Theatres in Washington DC. Before moving to Washington, Kevin was the resident Sound Designer/Composer for the Omaha Theater Company for Young People. Kevin has 15 years experience in sound design and engineering for live theatre, music recording/producing and audio post-production for video and film. He currently owns and operates Studio Unknown, a commercial audio production studio in Baltimore, MD. Kevin's specialties are in creative sound design and custom music composition as well as post-production mixing and sweetening. He has appeared on many online websites providing custom music/sound design for companies such as Discovery Communications, World Bank and Crayola. He has also worked on feature films, TV, radio and corporate videos for such clients as Pfizer, National Instrument Co., St. Vincent DePaul,
New Zealand Air and A&E. Feature film Euphoria won GOLD REMI award at Houston Film Festival 2005. His musical composition styles range from many different genres including: rock/ pop, orchestral instrumentation, electronic/ dance and world and ethnic. He has been a part of the live music scene for over 15 years playing electric and acoustic guitars in several bands. He holds a BA in Dramatic Arts from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is a member of ASCAP, TAXI, ITVA and WIFV.
(Lighting Designer) has designed lighting for more than 300 productions at many Washington D.C. area theatres, including The Shakespeare Theatre, The Kennedy Center, The Studio Theatre, Round House Theatre, Signature Theatre, Theatre of the First Amendment, Horizons Theatre, Potomac Theatre Project, The Rep Stage, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, National Players, and Olney Theatre Center. Mr. Wagner has also designed for Boston Lyric Opera, Portland Stage, Philadelphia Theatre Company, The Arden Theatre Company, and several Off-Broadway theatres. He is a six-time recipient of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lighting Design, for which he has been nominated twenty-three times. He is the Resident Lighting Designer for Olney Theatre Center and National Players in addition to being an Artistic Associate at Signature Theatre. Recent designs include: The Gospel According to Fishman at Signature Theatre; Plenty at Potomac Theatre Project; Exit Wounds at The Arden Theatre Company; Problem Child, Snakebit and The Smell of the Kill at Round House Theatre; Collected Stories at Theatre J; and Art, The Rivals and Therese Raquin at Olney Theatre Center. Upcoming designs include: Collected Stories and The Laramie Project at Olney Theatre Center; Shakespeare, Moses, and Joe Papp at Round House Theatre; and James Joyce's The Dead at The Arden Theatre Company. Mr. Wagner is Acting Chair and Associate Professor of Lighting Design in the Department of Theatre at the University of Maryland.
(Set Designer) is pleased to return to the Theatre Lab where he designed The Best Christmas Pageant Ever four years ago, and doubly pleased to be working with one of his favorite directors, the ineffable Mr. Olcott. Until very recently the Production Manager and Resident Scenic and Lighting Designer for the Round House Theatre (which remains his artistic home), Mr. Musumeci has decided to try the free-lance waters again (help! hire me!) and spend some vacation time getting his recently renovated home up to snuff. Past designs for Round House and elsewhere include the scenery for Pantomime, Uncle Vanya, One Shoe Off and The Man with a Load of Mischief and the lighting for Criminal Genius, Why We Have a Body, An Almost Holy Picture and the scenery and lighting for The Swan and Nora.
(Costume Designer) has long been regarded as Washington's busiest costume designer. Her career has spanned twenty-seven years, almost five hundred productions, dozens of theatre and film companies and little sleep. Her work has been seen at The Kennedy Center, the National Theatre, the Folger Theatre and the Smithsonian Institute. She holds resident design positions at the Olney Theatre Center, the Round House Theatre, InterACT Theatre Company, Everyman Theatre, the National Players and Galludet University's Department of Theatre. Rosemary also adjudicates the Maryland State Theatre Scholarship Program. She has designed costumes for national tours of The Importance of Being Earnest, The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men, Frankenstein and A Few Good Men. Ms. Pardee is a recipient (and seven-time nominee) of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Costume Design. She has recently completed working on both The Miracle Worker and The Great White Hope at Arena Stage. For the Kennedy Center's Youth and Family Programs, she has designed The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, The Magic Rainforest, and Into the Woods Junior. .
(Anthony) attended The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC as a Musical Theater major and is native to Virginia. Favorite roles include: Ren (Footloose), Bill (Kiss Me Kate), and Will Parker (Oklahoma). He would like to thank his wonderful friends and family for their constant love and support. (Nick) is a recent graduate of Howard University's musical theatre department. While at Howard she performed in such productions as Into The Woods, Once on This Island, The Fantasticks, Abyssinia, God's Trombones, Wit and Shakin' the Mess Outa Missery. Ashley is excited to be working on her first professional show with the Kennedy Center and is thankful for the opportunity. She gives much thanks and praise to the Lord above for all the blessings she has received and to her family and friends for their love and support.
(Mom) is so excited to join this talented cast and the Kennedy Center that she quit two full-time jobs and sold an organ, as well as most of her possessions. She is a DC newcomer, having arrived just a short year ago from North Carolina where she worked in film and theatre as an actor, director, and professor. She's no stranger to touring, as she traveled with the Metro Theatre Company in "The Short Tree." Favorite roles include: Into the Woods (The Witch), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), Grease (Frenchy), Annie (Star to Be, other roles), Playboy of the Western World (The Widow Quin), and The Yellow Boat (Ensemble). Since 2002, Shannon has taught Theatre classes online for the North Carolina Community Colleges, as that is the perfect job for an Internet junkie and travelaholic. She holds an MFA in Acting from the University of NC at Greensboro, and a BA in Theatre from Mississippi University for Women. Her family and friends are delighted to see her continue her life in the theatre, as all of their cell phone bills will decrease while she is entertaining you.
(Paul) is thrilled to be part of this production. This is his first professional show since graduating from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL in May of 2005. Theatre credits include Jamie in The Last 5 Years, Allan in Baby, Danilo in Ferdinand The Bull, and Jose in Man of La Mancha. (Dad) is pleased to be making his Kennedy Center debut.Joe's credits include Big River and The Grapes of Wrath at Ford's Theatre, A Man of No Importance at Theatre Lab, Follies and 110 in the Shade at Signature Theatre, and The Secret Garden at Olney Theatre Center. Joe works in voiceover as well as film and video projects for a variety of groups - from the Transportation Safety Administration to the World Water Forum, from the U.S. Army to public broadcasting.
(Alexander) is a graduate of the University of Maryland Theater Department. Since graduating Jordan has been seen performing around the DC Metro area. Some favorite credits include Pippin in Pippin, Brad Majors in Rocky Horror Show, Emcee in Cabaret, and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. Jordan would like to thank his family for their constant support and his wife Megan for being his inspiration. I love you!
(Understudy) is a 2004 BFA graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts where he studied acting under the direction of Gerald Freedman, Dean of the School of Drama. He is a Society of American Fight Decorators certified actor/combatant. Roles at NCSA include Ed Bishop in Floyd Collins, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Reverand Vincent in The Living, Straker in Man and Superman, Mr. Medley in Man of Mode, Leland in Blues for an Alabama Sky and the title role in Tartuffe. During his time at the Kennedy Center Mr. Honeycutt has performed in Mister Roberts (Schlemmer) and as an understudy in Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka. He is grateful to his family whose support has enabled him to dream without limits.
(Understudy) is tickled pink to be part of Alexander Who's Not...Going To Move. A Catholic University grad, she's been seen around town "being silly" in Beauty and the Beast and Gigi in Miss Saigon at Toby's. She's also been seen around the country as Urleen in Footloose, Mona in Chicago, Martha in Secret Garden, and Joanne in Godspell. Thanks to the Kennedy Center team for inviting me on board and Mom, Dad, Denny, Mo, and Aunt Mary Jane for the countless support. I love you!
(Production Stage Manager) is delighted to again be workingwith the Kennedy Center's Youth and Family Programs. Her perviousshows include: A Light in the Storm, Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie, Pearl (Assistant Stage Manager), Telemeca, and Custard the Dragon. Most recently she has worked as a Production Assistant on Two Gentlemen of Verona, Romeo and Juliet, and The Clandestine Marriage at the Folger Shakespeare Theater. Ms. McAndrews has also been an Artistic Associate withthe Project Y Theater Company in Washington DC. As always, Ms. Mc Andrews would like to thank her loving family for all their sacrifices and support throughout the years.
(Technical Director) is thrilled to be joining The Kennedy Center's Alexander Who's Not Not Not Not Not Not Going to Move tour for a second time. A graduate of The Ohio State University Department of Theatre with a BA in Technical Production, Michael has spent the past five years working on a range of local, regional, and national productions. Michael also spends his summers in the Adirondacks as the Sound Designer and Assistant Technical Director at Long Lake Camp for the Arts in Long Lake, NY.
(Lighting Director) isthrilled to be working with the Kennedy Center Imagination Celebration on Tour. Other national tours include Stand By Your Man (The Tammy Wynette Story). Also The McDonald's Gospelfest 2000 - 2004, which was filmed for ABC. Other venuesCindy has designedfor are Madison Square Garden, Hammerstein Ballroom, and the Vanderbelt. Cindy would like tothank her family and friends for all their support.
(Assistant Technical Director/Props and Wardrobe) is glad to be working for the Kennedy Center after having brief intervules as a student designer participating in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and winning the National Barbizon award for costume design in 2003 and the National Mehron Award for Make-Up Design in 2004. Moria is a native from River Falls, WI, and has enjoyed her past wear working at The Guthurie and spending her fourth summer at the Santa Fe Opera as design assistant on Ainadamar. She is enjoying seeing more of our country traveling with the Alexander ...crew.
